Credit Card Processing Made Easy

By | January 17, 2017

Hello, my name is Moe. I’m creating this blog to help business owners better understand how credit card processing works so they can make their businesses more profitable.

What is Credit Card Processing?

First of all, you need to know what credit card processing means. By credit card processing, I refer to a transaction whereby your customer purchases your goods or services using a prepaid, debit, or credit card. Or, any form of plastic. This transaction can take place in your store, online, or over the phone.

If you are starting a new business, your customers will undoubtedly want to pay with their credit cards. Cards are the preferred payment method today, so the ability to accept credit cards for payment is fundamental to your businesses success. Therefore, it’s imperative to have a basic understanding of how credit card processing works.

Why Take My Advice?

You may be wondering why you should even consider my advice. That’s an excellent question. I have worked in the credit card processing (merchant services) industry for many years and experienced various positions. Some of these jobs include customer service, sales, underwriting and more. I have even owned a payment processing company too.

What I have learned is that most business owners don’t want to invest the time to learn this part of the business. It is easy to neglect because credit card processing systems tend to run themselves. Furthermore, most of the information on the web is advanced, and it’s easy to give up after spending hours of research trying to learn what interchange is. More on that later.

I’ll cover EVERYTHING you need to know and break it down in the simplest and most digestible form. I’ll explain everything from the application process to running your first sale to reading your processing statement. In conclusion, I’ll share all my knowledge and resources to help your business succeed in today’s marketplace.

Thank you for reading; I hope you can learn a thing or two from this blog. If you have any questions or feedback, please visit the Contact Me page and leave me a note!
